Reservation

Q. How does your room rate apply? Does it vary by type of room?
A. Our room rate is based on the number of person who stays at our ryokan. It also varies by dinner menu, but there is no difference by type of room.


Q. Is there any guest room for single occupancy?
A. No. Reservation for guest room via internet requires the minimum number of two persons who stay at our ryokan. Please feel free to contact us by e-mail if you need a room for single occupancy.


Q. How early can a reservation be made?
A. A reservation via internet can be accepted from 5 to 6 months before the date of your arrival. A reservation by e-mail can be also received from about one year before the date of your arrival.


Q. Is there any charge for cancelation of reservation on the date of our arrival?
A. Yes. As a general rule, 50% of room rate will be charged for cancelation on the day of your arrival. 100% of room rate will be charged in case that no check-in is made without cancelation notice.


Q. Can be a guest room chosen by us?
A. Yes, it can be. However, the number of room is very limited so that it may not meet with your need. Your earliest request may enable us to secure your chosen room.


Q. Can our pets stay at this ryokan?
A. No, any pets are not allowed to stay at our ryokan.

Access

Q. Is there any free shuttle bus service available to and from your ryokan?
A. No, there isn't. We recommend to take a taxi from JR Karatsu Station. It takes about 4 minutes from the station to our ryokan.


Q. Is there any free car-parking at your ryokan?
A. Yes, there are. The first parking space can be found when you go straight to the street along with the playground of Waseda Saga High School, and before you get to the sea. There is another space for 3 cars and it is located in front of the Mizuno Gate after you turn right at the next corner of the playground of the school.

Cuisine

Q. What time for dinner is ready?
A. Dinner is usually ready between 17:00 and 20:00.


Q. What time for breakfast is ready?
A. Breakfast is usually ready between 7:00 and 9:00.


Q. What menu for dinner is prepared?
A. Dinner is arranged in Kaiseki-Ryori, a set menu of mainly fresh fishes and shellfishes selected from the Genkai Sea.
There are various plans of menu depending on in-season ingredients and recipes. Most of our menu plans include sashimi (thin slices) of live squid. It can be substituted with another dish if you do not eat fresh squid.
There are menu plans including Saga Beef and please see more details in our plans with stay or without stay.
Please note that sashimi of live squid may not be available due to weather condition.


Q. Is there special menu for child?
A. Yes, there are. Kids' lunch set and Chawan-Mushi (steamed egg hotchpotch) can be prepared for infant child. Sashimi (thin slices) of fresh fishes, grilled fishes and fried food can be also prepared for elementary school kid. Please let us know in advance if you have any requests.


Q. Is there any special menu for those who would have any allergies to food or have any difficulties to eat food?
A. Yes, such special menu can be prepared. Please notify us of your request at your reservation or by one day before your arrival.


Q. Is there any menu with quality rather than quantity for those who is a light eater?
A. Yes, special menu to focus on quality can be arranged. Please notify us of your request at your reservation or by one day before your arrival.


Q. Is there any special menu with low-sodium for those who have a weak liver?
A. Yes, special menu to focus on quality can be arranged. Please notify us of your request at your reservation or by one day before your arrival.

Room and services

Q. What time is for check-in and check-out time?
A. Check-in time is from 16:00 to 19:00 and check-out is from 7:00 to 10:00. These times are changed by the package plans and please find the right time in them. If you need to make early or late check-in or check-out, please let us know your request so that possible response to these requests can be made at our best.


Q. What size of Yukata (summer kimono after bath) is available? Is there a smaller size for child?
A. Yes, there are four sizes of 2XL, XL, L and M for adult. And there are two sizes for kids and the one for school kid and the other for infant child.


Q. Is there any non-smoking guest room?
A. No, there isn't. Odor eliminating work will be made as much as possible if you would notify us by 3 days before your arrival.


Q. Is there any guest room with barrier-free floor.
A. No, there isn't. The room of Hime (princess) is located at the second floor and this room has less difference in level on the floor if you could walk up to the second floor.


Q. Is there any refrigerator in guest rooms?
A. There is a refrigerator in each of four rooms, Room of Matsu (pine), Take (bamboo), Ume (plum) and Hime (princess). And Room of Nishi (west) floor as well. There are paid beverages stored in these refrigerators. However, there is not any refrigerator in two rooms, Room of Shiro (castle) and Yuri (lily). And Room of Naka (middle) as well. Portable refrigerator can be temporarily installed in these rooms and please notify us if this is needed.


Q. Is there any internet access?
A. Yes. Free rental modem is available for internet and e-mail (FLET'S optical fiber cable provided by NTT West). Your portable computer can be connected with this. The number of these modems is limited so that your early reservation would enable us to secure this. Please note that there is no free rental computer available.


Q. Can city tour information be collected at your ryokan?
A. Yes. Please feel free to contact us and possible response to your request can be made at our best.
Brochure of city sightseeing published by the city tourist association can be delivered to you in advance.


Q. Can a rental car be arranged through your ryokan?
A. Yes. It is possible to deliver a rental car to our ryokan. Please let us know in advance if this delivery service is needed.


Q. Is there any massage service available at your ryokan?
A. Yes. Massage service is done in your room and the rate is Yen 4,500 for 40 minutes at minimum. This service is available any day except for Sunday.


Q. Is there any esthetic beauty salon at your ryokan?
A. Yes. There is a delivery service of esthetic beauty salon treatment and please make a reservation with us one week in advance. There are 3 courses for facial and 2 for body treatment.


Q. What time for curfew is at your ryokan?
A. It is by 23:00.


Q. Is there a wake-up call service at your ryokan?
A. Yes. It can be arranged with your in-room phone.

Bath

Q. What time is in-house public bath closed?
A. It is closed by 23:00. It usually isn't opened in the morning, but it can be opened if you notify us by one day before.


Q. Is there in-house public bath for private use?
A. No, there isn't. There are two in-house public baths (medium and small sized). These are used respectively for men and women, or group of family by time. Please let us know beforehand if you need to use any of these as your private bath. Possible response to these requests can be made at our best.


Q. Is water in the in-house public bath hot spring water?
A. No, it isn't. The hot water is filtered through maifan stone called as a special mineral rock and it is good for your body and it enables to keep body not to feel a chill after a bath.

Shopping

Q. Is there any in-house shop at your ryokan?
A. Yes, our home-made products and few souvenirs are sold in our ryokan.


Q. Is there a convenient store nearby?
A. There is Lawson convenient store. It takes about 4 minutes on foot.


Q. Is there any vending machine for cigarette and drink in your ryokan?
A. No, there isn't. Please call our housekeeper so that they can get what you need.

Baggage

Q. Can our baggage be sent in advance to your ryokan by courier and kept until our arrival?
A. Yes, it can be and your baggage can be kept until your arrival. Please notify us beforehand if you need to send us your baggage by courier.


Q. Can our baggage be kept at your ryokan after check-out?
A. Yes, it can be. Please feel free to contact us.


Q. Can our souvenirs and clothes be sent from your ryokan by courier?
A. Yes. Used, but clean carton boxes are kept for guess' use and Kuroneko Yamato, a courier company will deliver your carton box to your home.

A. Yes, we accept JCB, AMEX, Diners, Master, UC, DC, NICOS and Aeon.


Q. What cell-phone can be used in your area?
A. Any cell-phone of NTTdocomo, au, SoftBank can be used without any troubles.


Q. Can our battery of cell-phone be charged at your ryokan?
A. Yes. We have a battery charger for docomoFoma, au, SoftBank3G, iPhone/iPod, microUSB(WILLCOM) and XPERIA.
